The Story
of Friday
Zachary Friday is a multi-genre guitarist, singer-songwriter, and recording artist whose journey began on the legendary stage of Antone’s in Austin, Texas — a room that once belonged to the likes of B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and many other legends…
A Berklee School of Music alumnus with an undergraduate degree in classical guitar performance from LA Pierce College, Zachary studied under Dr. John Schneider, the inventor of microtonal guitar, as well as Brazilian classical guitarist Dr. Hugo Nogueira. As a teenager, his singing voice was shaped by Wosheka Burrell at Anointed Melodies Music School.
In 2005, his debut catapulted him to perform alongside country legend Will Ray at the National Guitar Workshop. That same year, he won the James Burton International Guitar Festival competition as his first solo cut co-produced by the guitar icon himself. You can find some footage of that instance on his YouTube channel.
Zachary has also been fortunate to perform alongside the great Steve Vai, among many others. He continues to strive for more opportunities, and his debut solo album, “Faith In Love” is TBA in 2026. He is quite active on social media, follow him to see just how hard he practices, and everything he is up to!
